Scrimshanders of the Sea Unicorn
This page is a work in progress also. I ( the right whale) hope to start the Scrimshanders going
again soon in a effort to add a little variety and alternative to the organization.
The Scrimshanders were started to give those, who wished, the opportunity to visit the world of Sherlock Holmes one more time each month. We would usually discuss anything written, other than the Canon, that had to do with the era of Sherlock Holmes, The meeting were usually small in attendance and were usually held at my house.
What I would like to see the Scrimshanders become now, as a sub-scion of the HSU, (which it has been since it's beginnings), is a group dedicated to researching several different ideas for publication at one time. That is to say, if a member has an idea for an in-depth project, they could bring it to a Scrimshander meeting and the group of participants would help research the project, More than one project could be done at a time. The goal of these projects would be to get them published in, say, the Baker St. Journal.
Grand thoughts, I know. But, could be fun.
I think it would be good to start with quarterly meetings, giving plenty of time to do the research.
Might be good to try this again this spring (2004))
